THE SEARCH OF HAPPINESS

What does happiness means to you? For some it might be procuring gadgets, property, clothing, eatables etc. Having many friends, achieving highest marks in exams, getting selected for topmost jobs in the country are means of happiness for most of us . While some others think that being devoid of any type of disease is real happiness. From a small child to an old person happiness means the fulfillment of their needs.

Whatever we have mentioned about so far only talks about becoming happy by acquiring things from outside .If we are not able to get these in our life we tend to feel that we are unlucky and become unhappy and in worst situations become the prey of depression.

In my opinion, the key to happiness is not merely grasping things for oneself and becoming happy but in giving and spreading happiness to others. Happiness does not require big things to be done even doing small things for others matters a lot.

Some of us have a plethora of things and also have an incessant urge to acquire more. If we share our things with others, then we can see smile and contentment on their faces and we are left with happiness in us.

Sometimes, people think that they do not have enough money or accessories to help others. It is not always imperative to help others with money. In this busy world if you give your precious time and empathy to someone even that also brings a sense of satisfaction and euphoria.

We live in a country where we have the feeling of “वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम” means “The whole world is a family”.

A very important topic less talked about in context to happiness is organ donation. We may do many things in our lives for others and enjoy the happiness imbibed in them. But, have we ever thought of giving happiness to others after we are no more on this earth.

There are many people who are still waiting for their share of happiness due to some chronic disabilities in them. Getting ourselves registered for an organ donation will not only bring a sense of responsibility in us but also immeasurable happiness that we will live in the bodies of others after we are no more.

Throughout our whole life we keep on doing so many things for our family, friends and relatives. Can we think to help others whom we do not know and who really need some of us?

जो कर न सका तू जीवन भर में, वो कर दिखया तूने क्षण भर में ।

मर के भी तू अमर हो गया, दे गया खुशियां किसी के जीवन में ॥

This really welled up tears in my eyes. Help is just being there for someone, just being there , standing by someone is more than enough. Gratitude! Being thankful for everything and also education is important for the thought left towards the end in the article… organ donation.

    Aptly penned!! Kudos!!
