At the most basic level, Mathematics involves counting, recognizing numbers and performing simple operations. In the Primary Grades, student should be provided with numerous opportunities to master these skills. Mathematics should be used to develop critical thinking and problem solving. Mathematics makes children more confident and sharp minded.
Mathematics plays a vital role to crack various competitive exams. Specially the curriculum of middle and senior classes is designed in such a way that it helps to clear the exams like SAT,CAT, MAT,IIT-JEE and other exams conduct by the Government like Bank,Railways,Army and so on. Mathematics connects the students to the real world and increases the logical aptitude of the child.
Mathematics is the fundamental need of other subjects also. Like in Physics it is used to describe the motion of planets. In Economics, Mathematics is used to describe the fluctuations in the stock market. Mathematics is used in Computer Science to prove the correctness of the programs as all these require high degree of precision.
Artificial Intelligence problems constitute two general categories, Search problems and Representation problems. Following them are interconnected models and tools like rules, frames, logics and nets. All of them are Mathematical topics. The primary purpose of Artificial Intelligence is to create an acceptable model for human understanding. And these models can be prepared with the ideas from various branches of Mathematics.
As the next generation of eager youth look to make their first major career choice, many will consider Data Science as an exciting possibility. With software having officially eaten the world, and data planted firmly as our economy’s new oil, opportunities for a career in data collection, analysis and interpretation have never been greater. To become successful, a Data Scientist will come across the usual inventory of mostly STEM-related skills; not the least of which are Mathematics and Statistics. Analysts of all types have historically used Mathematics to help make and confirm their discoveries.
At last I conclude that Mathematics is more than a skill which is applied to science or to mundane tasks such as balancing a checkbook.Mathematics is also a language or mode of communication; it is a way of expressing ideas clearly and rigorously from hypothesis to conclusion.Mathematics is a way of thinking, a kind of logic.A good understanding of Mathematics in everyday life is essential for making sense of all the numbers and problems that life throws at us.
