The title itself seems to be odd since everyone aspires success in life. Let’s talk about success and failure. What is success and what is failure? In Winston Churchill’s words – ‘Success is an ability to go from one failure to another, without any loss of exuberance and failure is not falling down but staying down’. Failure is an opportunity to look at our mistakes and know about the areas we lag. Failures do result in great despondency, but they teach us more than success does. A lot of hard work is put in to achieve success, but at times it may result in failure. A person who never tries is a real failure.

It is truly said that failures are the stepping stones to success. When we hear this statement from somebody, it seems to be a theoretical concept only, but it is a truth and not just a saying. Nobody is perfect in the world and as it is rightly said ‘to err is human’. So, we can never separate ourselves from mistakes. But ultimately, the idea behind these mistakes and failures is what we learn from them and how we use them for our future benefit.

A simple fact about failure is one who succeeds in life, learns from failures. The qualities like determination, perseverance, dedication and confidence lead us to success directly, but failure is an indirect medium to the path of success. It is a platform from where the train of success passes by with a new experience and continues its journey happily. The important aspect in life is not to stop at the point of failure but to move from there towards the point of success.

As the significance of something is better realized only after losing it, similarly the importance of success is better understood after meeting with failure.
